Well established Engineering business that has been in operation for over 40 years needs an experienced Sales / BDM person to quote and estimate CNC machining work. This successful company specialises in low volume production engineering for various industries such as Mining, Rail, Transport, Defence, and many other industries around Australia.

This is a key role with primary responsibility for Account Management of existing clients and Sales Development of new business. The overarching objective is to secure and sustain a suitable mix of work to achieve current financial targets while supporting future growth.

As a key member of the Management Team, you will be actively involved in key business decisions and will play a pivotal role in maintaining strong customer relationships, managing enquiries, preparing quotations, and ensuring the highest level of service. You will work closly with the Operations manager and internal staff to achieve results as a team.

The most important part of this role is the ability to quote CNC machining work. This is a varied role in a successful business environment, requiring strong prioritisation, adaptability, and teamwork. The Business Development Manager works closely with the Operations Manager, making collaboration and communication essential.

Key Responsibilities / Activities

• Contribute to business decision-making and the day-to-day running of the company.
• Develop and maintain secure, long-term relationships with both existing and target customer organisations.
• Evaluate RFQ opportunities against business needs.
• Prepare accurate and timely quotations
• Work in conjunction with appropriate Operational staff.
• Liaise with various Industry Partners and Suppliers.
• Review incoming Sales Orders for correct/current pricing and action amendments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's manufacturing capabilities.
• Achievement and presentation of Sales related KPI's.
• Work together with the management team including Operations.

• Trade or Enginneering qualifications
• Understanding of CNC Machining
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Computer literacy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent presentation.
