An exciting opportunity to join a leading and innovative heavy vehicle manufacturer. We are looking for a technically skilled and detail-oriented PBS Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to support our vehicle design and compliance processes at our Sunshine facility.

This role is involves vehicle design assessment, compliance validation, and safety analysis, ensuring all vehicle builds meet Performance-Based Standards (PBS) and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams to review specifications, assess technical designs, and support the delivery of safe and efficient heavy vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and assess vehicle designs for PBS compliance
• Ensure safety and performance standards are met during the design process
• Liaise with design and production teams to align vehicle specifications with compliance standards
• Prepare and submit PBS applications and technical documentation
• Interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines to engineering solutions
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to vehicle dimensions, axle loads, and performance
• Collaborate with external assessors and regulatory bodies when required
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design and compliance processes

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Strong understanding of heavy vehicle dynamics and design principles
• Experience working with PBS frameworks and regulatory bodies
• Familiarity with compliance standards for heavy vehicles in Australia
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (CAD, PBS software, etc.)
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Previous experience in the heavy vehicle, transport, or manufacturing industry preferred
