CNC Machinist - Mazak Lathe or 5-Axis Okuma

A highly regarded and well-established engineering business with 90+ staff is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their modern manufacturing facility in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
This company is recognised as one of the best in its field, supplying precision components and tooling to industries including Defence, Transport, Automotive, and other high-tech sectors. They operate a clean, modern workshop with the latest CNC machinery and excellent working conditions.
You will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC machines, depending on your experience, including:
Mazak CNC Lathes, or
5-Axis Okuma CNC machines
Work is primarily low-volume, jobbing, high-end machining, involving:
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
On-machine programming, setting, and running
Producing precision components to tight tolerances
To be successful in this role you will have:
Mechanical trade qualifications
Experience with Mazak CNC Lathes or 5-Axis Okuma machines
Strong background in low-volume / jobbing work
Ability to program, set, and run CNC machines independently
Good verbal and written communication skills
A reliable and professional approach to work
Excellent pay rate + super (based on experience)
Permanent, full-time position
