Excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager / Technical Sales professional to join an established international organisation operating within the electrical power distribution and switchgear industry.
Based in Melbourne, this is a genuine new-business development position with responsibility for identifying opportunities, winning new customers and growing the company's presence across the Australian market.
We are particularly interested in speaking with commercially driven, proactive sales professionals who enjoy developing new business rather than simply managing existing accounts.
You will develop relationships with Utilities, EPC organisations, Electrical Contractors, Consultants and major industry customers, identifying projects and opportunities and managing technically and commercially involved sales cycles through to successful outcomes.
The role will involve identifying and approaching new customers, developing strategic relationships, gaining product approvals and project specifications, preparing quotations, negotiating commercial terms and ultimately converting opportunities into profitable sales.
The successful person will ideally already understand the Australian electrical power distribution market and have established relationships and networks within Victoria and nationally.
You will work closely with the Sales Director and technical and commercial teams while taking responsibility for developing opportunities across Australia.
TO APPLY YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:
Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, low-voltage switchgear, Ring Main Units, package substations, transformers, automation systems or associated power distribution equipment would be particularly relevant.
Candidates currently working with switchgear manufacturers, transformer companies, electrical solution providers, electrical equipment suppliers, utility organisations, electrical infrastructure companies, EPC organisations or major electrical contractors are strongly encouraged to apply.
You may currently hold a title such as Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Key Account Manager, Specification Manager, Account Manager, Solutions Sales Manager or National Sales Executive.
This position will particularly suit someone who is technically credible but sales driven - a person who enjoys opening doors, developing relationships, identifying opportunities and turning those opportunities into new business.
The position involves regular travel throughout Australia, together with some travel within the Asia-Pacific region.
This is a permanent full-time position offering an excellent base salary, car allowance and Super.
